Shipwreck Secrets: Ghostly Captains and Mysterious Cargo Unveiled!

May 28, 2024

Between The Great Ridge and Port Elgin — What began as a hunt for fortune on a secluded American shoreline has turned into a red-blooded tale of freedom, gunfire, and courage. Four bold adventurers gathered at a shipwreck washed ashore, setting off a chain of events that could change the fate of Kenver—and maybe all of liberty-loving lands beyond.

The Gathering at the Shipwreck

Drawn by the promise of wealth and wide-open opportunity, four free-spirited adventurers met amidst the splintered remains of a once-proud ship. Among them, Captain Mad Matt revealed his true identity and his mission to reclaim the freedom of the seas with a new vessel and crew. His old crew’s fate remained a mystery, adding an air of legend to his daring cause. Quickly enlisting the others, he appointed the disciplined monk Selah as First Fighter, the fierce patriot Sonia as Second Fighter, and the ever-resourceful halfling druid Wilma Waterfoot as an all-purpose member of the team.

Mourning the loss of a good ship but unwilling to quit, they salvaged what they could: four barrels. Three contained mackerel and gunpowder—the lifeblood of liberty—but the fourth held a strange, pinkish-blue liquid, thick and faintly fruity. Captain Mad Matt took a fearless taste and found it pineapple-flavored but far too acidic. When mixed with water, it vanished instantly, and the crew dubbed it “the enemy of the sea.”

Perilous Exploration Inside the Shipwreck

Pushing deeper into the wreck, Wilma was knocked back out by a flying fishbowl, unleashing a furious Piranhax into the waves. The party battled the beast like true defenders of freedom before discovering the ship’s hold could carry 120 barrels—ample space for a smuggler’s fortune or a militia’s ammo.

In the captain’s quarters, they came face-to-face with the ship’s grizzled, blue-skinned master, Liasu, who swore by steel and saltwater to defend his ship from trespassers.

A Fight to the Death

Liasu summoned two blue sailors to his aid, and a fierce brawl erupted. Mad Matt and Sonia cornered the undead captain while Selah, outnumbered, fought both sailors alone with grit and iron will. Outside, Wilma cooked the Piranhax—because even in battle, a good meal fuels freedom. Hearing the clash inside, she coated a Piranhax tooth with the strange liquid and hurled it into the fray. The throw missed, but Selah seized it, dual-wielding with patriotic fury.

Mad Matt tried to reason with Liasu, but the man was too far gone—his mind chained by dark magic. In the final stand, Sonia’s greatsword struck true, and Mad Matt’s trusty firearm thundered the last word, freeing the cursed captain from his undead bondage.

Spoils of Battle and Clues to the Future

Their search turned up discoveries worthy of legends:

  • Mad Matt unearthed two books: a humble cookbook, which he passed to Wilma, and a deep blue tome written in an unknown script, humming with hidden power.
  • Sonia claimed a curious breathing device of glass, rubber, and pipe—an ingenious American-looking contraption for underwater exploration.
  • Selah found two notes: one ordered Liasu to “deliver the cargo to Manamea without fail,” while another, written in the captain’s trembling hand, whispered rebellion—“Port Elgin, The Day of the Full Moon.”

With gunpowder, courage, and freedom on their side, the four heroes set their sights on Port Elgin, determined to expose the truth behind the cursed cargo and defend the liberty of their world.
